CU to replace three aged transformers in East Cleveland

USA, Cleveland: When Cleveland Utilities recently failed one of the three power transformers in the East Cleveland substation, it found that all three transformers should be replaced.
Following the evaluation and consultation, it was determined that the aged transformer could not be repaired, and a new one would have to be purchased, reports Cleveland Daily Banner.
Upon further review, it was decided that all three transformers at the East Cleveland facility, purchased in 1956 and used continually for 61 years, should be replaced.
The Virginia Transformer Company will produce three single-phase power transformers at a cost of 2.3 million U.S. dollars.
